What will BBL and IPL treatment do?

BBL and IPL (Photo Rejuvenation) technology utilizes the power of pulsed light to deliver excellent results in photo rejuvenation therapy. By selecting the appropriate wavelength or filter, your aesthetician will be able to treat a broad range of skin conditions caused by skin aging and sun exposure. Your skin will be smoother, more vibrant and it will have a more youthful appearance as a result.

How does BBL and IPL work?

The light energy delivered by the BBL, and IPL will gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells and regeneration begins. This will help restore your skin to its natural beauty, blending its natural colours and making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking. In addition, the photo-thermal energy will target and eliminate many of the fine vessels that cause redness and the unwanted melanin responsible for pigmented lesions.

What can I expect immediately after the treatment?

Usually the face is pink and warm for approximately 2 hours post treatment, followed by Oedema (swelling) and darkening of the pigmented skin for first 3 days, then lightening in pigmented skin for remaining 4-10 days, on the face and 2-3 weeks on the body. The treatment can be uncomfortable depending on the skin condition but not painful. In the weeks following, there is often a reduction in pore size, even skin tone and decrease in spots and discolouration.  Usually, you can return to work the next day with make-up. On rare occasions people may experience redness and severe swelling a may require a few days to a week off work, medication to reduce this swelling.

Some other side effects include, infection, coldsores, blisters, scaring, hypopigmentation and hyperpigmentation. A thorough consultation we will discuss all side effects in detail and how we can prevent or manage any risks and who is a suitable candidate.

How many treatments are required?

1-3 treatments are recommended 4-6 weeks apart to achieve the desired result.
